Record Number of Submissions Received for CCSD Photography Contests

A record number of Clark County School District photography students participated in the annual elementary, middle and high school photography contests throughout the 2017-18 school year. The elementary and middle school photography contest had over 600 entries submitted across five categories, with Best in Show going to Alexis Faggins of William and Mary Scherkenbach Elementary and Catherine Lee of Clifford J. Lawrence Junior High School.

The high school photography contest featured an astonishing 3,400 entries using a new digital submission process, with the Best in Show going to Aspen Aegerter of Spring Valley High School for her image of the Route 91 Remembrance Wall. High school students submitted photos in the categories of Great Outdoors, Macro, Special Technique/Unclassified, Vegas Strong and Portrait. The Best in Show winner received a new Canon camera.
