Star Graduate Cassidy Hoeckendorf of Liberty High School embodies grit, passion and determination. She has overcome extreme adversity during high school, yet has been able to maintain a 4.2 GPA.
Cassidy started high school with an IEP that was soon transitioned into a 504 plan because of her success in Honors and AP classes. She was a scholar athlete as a member of the cheer team in grades nine through 11, and then All Star Club cheer during her senior year.
Cassidy gives back to her community by volunteering time with Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation. She was chosen to represent the Patriots on the Clark County School District’s Board of Trustees Student Advisory Committee.
Sadly in July, before Cassidy’s senior year, she was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in her life. Although she was forced to miss the first two months of her senior year, Cassidy once again showed her passion for learning and determination to graduate as she maintained a 3.75 GPA in her Honors classes. She plans to attend UNIR in the fall.
Congratulations to Star Graduate Cassidy Hoeckendorf of Liberty High School!
