Star Graduate: Sara Gu of Sierra Vista High School

Star Graduate Sarah Gu of Sierra Vista High School was ranked #1 out of 634 seniors at her school. She took 14 honors classes and 17 AP classes, starting in her sophomore year.

Sarah was president of National Honor Society for two consecutive years. She also served as a member of organizations including the Key Club, the Coupon Club and Mu Alpha Theta, while also attending Chinese School every Saturday.

Sarah is kind to others, a natural leader and a devoted friend. While her focus was on academics, she still found time to volunteer in the community, tutoring students after school.

Sarah has struggled with back pain due to scoliosis, which has, at times, been a distraction to her during her teenage years. Due to her diligent study habits and drive, Sarah has overcome any and all obstacles thrown her way.

Sarah plans to attend UNR in the fall and eventually become an OB-GYN.
