There’s no HERO without HR! We have some of the best working tirelessly to process applications…thousands and thousands of them! Our folks are perfect for offering tips so that your application can be processed in lightning speed!
“Attend an informational session. You’ll be able to get answers to questions you may have, as well as obtain necessary information/requirements. Also, make sure all sections of your application are complete.”
“Having transcripts from a foreign university doesn’t mean you can’t be a Hero. If you have transcripts from a foreign university it needs to be evaluated by an approved evaluation company as identified by the Nevada Department of Education.”
“Verify that the information provided for your references is correct. Double check all the information on your application to ensure that it is complete and correctly filled out.”
“References have to be administrative supervisors, not colleagues (a.k.a department/grade level chairs, lead teachers, etc.). We know your colleagues like you, but who signs your evaluation?”
“Make sure to enter full (7) years of employment history in the Work Experience References section. In this same section, you can enter Employment Gaps in case you have not worked consistently. Make sure to explain all gaps, if any.”
Maria Terri Pamblanco
“Make sure the Work History and References sections on your application match your resume. It is important to explain any employment gaps there may be in your work history.”
“Please check that your uploaded documents are readable. PDF format is best. If you have to take a picture of your document, make sure your thumb isn’t covering any important information.”
“Make sure to provide a complete seven (7) year employment history on your application. Double check the contact information for your references to avoid any delays. Also very important, avoid using personal email addresses for your references. Use a work email address instead.”
“I’m often asked how long it takes to process applications. That depends on…how quickly your references respond and…you! Take a look at my teams’ tips above and the resources below.”
