This certificate is needed to be eligible for hire and to apply for your conditional license with the Nevada Department of Education.

ALTA teachers apply for an Alternative Route to Licensure conditional teaching license with the Nevada State Department of Education upon successful completion of the program.

This license is valid for three (3) years at any CCSD public school (charter schools excluded).

Candidates will enroll in six (6) credits at Nevada State College after acceptance into the ALTA program. There they will take remaining coursework to convert their alternative teaching license over to a standard teaching license. Nevada State College will provide all coursework and academic advising for ALTA teachers.
