The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees President Lola Brooks and Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara delivered meals and Pinkbox doughnuts to students at the Siegel Suites Cambridge, Siegel Suites Boulder I and Siegel Suites Boulder 2 as part of the continued efforts to provide necessities to students during the unprecedented school closures.
“Our top priority is making sure our students are safe and healthy during the school closures,” Brooks said. “CCSD Food Service is doing a phenomenal job of providing meals to families at the 36 sites throughout Clark County but we realize some families do not have the transportation to make it to those locations.”
Trustee Brooks and Superintendent Jara offered encouragement to the students and their families as they delivered the meals along with other members of the CCSD leadership team.
“Food is a basic need that many in the community are struggling with in these uncertain times. We are working to find solutions to get more food and academic resources into students’ hands every day,” Superintendent Jara said. “We are having regular discussions with community partners, like Siegel Suites, about how we can work with the business community to ensure our students and their families are secure during the school and business closures.”
“During such a difficult time in our community, and around the world, it is so important for us to give back through Siegel Cares, the charitable arm of The Siegel Group,” Judith Siegel, Executive Vice President of The Siegel Group, said. “We are proud to partner with the Clark County School District to help provide meals to those who are in need. This will be an ongoing initiative for The Siegel Group, and some of our brands, including Pinkbox Doughnuts, Siegel’s Bagelmania and Siegel Suites, to continue to come up with ways of ensuring that the children in our community do not go hungry.”
CCSD Food Service is continually working to evaluate and add food distribution locations as the need and resources are available. All CCSD Distribution Food Sites are open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. Meals are available for all children ages 2 -18. Parents and guardians will now be able to pick up meals for their children without their child/children present. For additional details and to locate a site near you, visit ccsd.nutrislice.com.
