What excites you about teaching in Clark County?
I love teaching and finding innovative ways to make learning fun. My motto is “if I’m not having fun the kids aren’t having fun,” so I try to incorporate games, projects, and collaboration into my lessons.
I love working with kids, so everyday I don’t feel like I’m going to work, it’s just another fun day going to school. The last few years, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to mentor and consult new teachers coming into the district. I enjoy mentoring and helping new teachers tremendously, seeing them grow and helping them transition into a new career is very fulfilling.
What is it like to live in Clark County?
I’m originally from CA, so Las Vegas is not that different (other than the 100+ degrees in the summer). I am an amateur photographer and scrapbooker, so Vegas definitely have an abundance of spots to spark my creative outlet. My husband and son also enjoy the great weather year around.
